FAQs

What is the purpose of an appraisal?

An appraisal provides an impartial evaluation on the value of a property. This evaluation is highly important in the real estate market transaction.

How do I know my appraiser’s evaluation is accurate?

A major part of an appraiser’s job is ensuring accuracy. To do this, we compile large amounts of data on properties both generally and locally. We then use this data to find similarities and value the property based on amenities, location, condition, and how similar properties sold.

Do I need to get a professional appraisal?

There are many reasons why someone may have to get a professional appraisal. More often than not an appraisal is required for real estate financing; however, it can also be needed/desired if there is a change in property tax disputes, estate evaluation, or if someone is simply applying for a loan.

Is an appraisal actually that important to me?

Yes! For the majority of people their property is the biggest and most important physical asset that they own. Having a certified evaluation from an appraiser is essential when making important life decisions such as dividing up an estate, buying a home, or dealing with taxes.
